About the event
JCWK Dance Lab joins with Alvernia University for a nine week dance series built for adults, whether you teach at a studio, take classes in college, or have never set foot in a dance studio before. Sessions run at different levels and times, and the instructors are working dancers and educators who lead each class with an eye toward the joy and connection that movement brings.
The series moves through a wide range of styles. Series 1 offers Beginning Jazz with Jessica Warchal-King and Intermediate Contemporary with Arielle Ridley. Series 2 brings Beginning Modern with Warchal-King and Floor Work with Megan Zalek. Series 3 covers Beginning Ballet with Sarena Gable and Warchal-King plus Flamenco with Amanda Pena.
JCWK Dance Lab describes its work as an ongoing project that combines education, dance practice, and performance, exploring how dance can create joy, connection, and wellness through kinesthetic stories. The group also runs the Greater Reading Area Dance Exchange, which gathers information on dance opportunities for adults across Berks County and nearby areas. Full class details are posted at jcwkdancelab.org/summerseries.
