About the event
JCWK Dance Lab and Alvernia University have teamed up for a nine-week dance series made for adults. It welcomes studio teachers, college students, and anyone who has been curious about trying dance for the first time, with different level options and class times so participants can find a fit.
The series spans a wide range of movement styles. Offerings include Beginning Jazz with Jessica Warchal-King and Intermediate Contemporary with Arielle Ridley, Beginning Modern with Warchal-King and Floor Work with Megan Zalek, and Beginning Ballet with Sarena Gable and Warchal-King alongside Flamenco with Amanda Pena. Every class is led by professional dancers and educators who focus on the joy and connection that come with moving together.
JCWK Dance Lab is a Berks County contemporary dance company founded and directed by Warchal-King, who also teaches dance at Alvernia. The company builds its performance and education work around joy, connection, and wellness, and that spirit carries into the studio here. Classes meet at Alvernia University on St. Bernardine Street in Reading.
