About the event
JCWK Dance Lab and Alvernia University have teamed up for the Summer Dance Series for Adults, a nine-week run of classes on the university's Reading campus. It is built for studio teachers, college students, and anyone who has been curious about dance but has never taken a class. Levels and class times vary across the series, so participants can find the option that fits their experience and schedule.
The styles range widely. One set of offerings pairs beginning jazz with Jessica Warchal-King and intermediate contemporary with Arielle Ridley. Another brings beginning modern with Warchal-King and floor work with Megan Zalek. A third covers beginning ballet with Sarena Gable and Warchal-King along with flamenco with Amanda Pena.
The instructors are professional dancers and educators who lead participants through the joy and connection of moving together. Warchal-King directs JCWK Dance Lab and is a lecturer and artist in residence in dance at Alvernia University, and the company's work centers on creating joy, connection, and wellness through kinesthetic storytelling. More information on levels and sessions is available at jcwkdancelab.org/summerseries.
