The Reading Royals welcome the Trenton Ironhawks to Santander Arena on Friday, November 13, with the puck dropping at 7:00 PM. Reading plays in the ECHL as the affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, so downtown fans get a look at players working their way up the professional ranks.
The visitors make for an interesting matchup. The Ironhawks arrived in the ECHL for the 2026-27 season after the Utah Grizzlies franchise relocated to Trenton, New Jersey, where they are affiliated with the New York Islanders and play at CURE Insurance Arena. Their name is a nod to Trenton's industrial roots and the strength and resilience of that community.
This one is also PA Dutch Night, a celebration of the Pennsylvania Dutch heritage that runs deep through Berks County and shapes the food, speech, and traditions many local families grew up with. It makes a good fit for a night out with relatives of any age, with the regular mix of between-period entertainment and time on the concourse alongside the hockey.
